The Council is the foundation for a wide
variety of social and educational programs serving the seniors
of both local and rural Adams County. In addition to a Craft
Workshop, there are regularly scheduled activities and special
events. The Council also provides coordination of the Senior
Transportation Program. Four Vehicles and one handicap bus
are available for transport of people over 60. A small donation
is requested for use of this service. |

This service provides case management
for people over 60 years of age who are having trouble meeting
their everyday needs. This unit services Adams, Hancock,
Brown, Schuyler, Pike and Calhoun counties. There is no charge
for this service. |

This agency is part of the Aging Network
in the state of Illinois. The Network is a system of services
designed to meet the needs of elderly people in the state.
Area Agencies have the primary task of planning and coordinating
services and programs for older persons in their respective
areas. Receiving funding from the Department on Aging, Area
Agencies are not, as a rule, direct service providers. They
contract with local providers for needed services. |
