Education Leadership Delegation

The Community Building Council (CBC) of United Way of Adams County is engaging the community by identifying key concerns and opportunities for growth and advancement. Led by the CBC, teams of community members formed Leadership Delegations in the areas of Education, Health and Income to play a lead role in decision-making about critical issues and create a stronger awareness of those issues.

RSG Logo The Education Leadership Delegation is focused on two primary issues:

1)    Early Education – working with parents and childcare providers to increase their efforts as their children’s first teachers so that children entering kindergarten will be prepared for school;

2)    Community Appreciation – all too often community members are unaware of the good that happens in our schools both scholastically and through community service, and more needs to be done in this area.

In 2013, the Education Delegation launched a community-wide initiative known as Ready Set Grow Adams County, which is focused on the importance of early education. The Initiative, administered by the Regional Office of Education, was awarded seed funding through the United Way Community Building Council. Visit the Ready Set Grow to learn about the goals and projects of the initiative and how you can get involved!
