Quincy, IL - July 7, 2025 - United Way of Adams County has awarded $550,000 in funding to local partner agency
programs, supporting its four core pillars: Youth Opportunity, Healthy Community, Community Resiliency, and Financial
Security. Partner organizations gathered to be recognized for their vital work at a celebratory breakfast on May 28.
The resource reinvestment process is the result of a thoughtful and meticulous review conducted by a team of 32
dedicated community volunteers, who collectively contributed more than 400 hours to evaluating funding requests.
This included an in-depth evaluation of agency documentation, alignment with the priorities outlined in the 2024
Community Needs Assessment, and how each program supports United Way of Adams County’s four strategic pillars.
Volunteers also considered factors such as service duplication and collaboration among agencies, as well as how
programs address the needs of ALICE (asset limited, income constrained, employed) households in our community. All
partner agencies are required to reapply annually, ensuring accountability and continued alignment with community
needs.
“United Way of Adams County has been supporting local organizations through community-based funding since 1937,” said Executive Director, Jenna Hull. “We’re proud to carry that legacy forward, especially during times of uncertainty. Our
partners know they can count on us, as we count on the generosity of our donors. Being able to invest $550,000 into
programs that make a real difference is a responsibility and a privilege we don’t take lightly. It’s just one piece of the
impact we’re proud to make. In addition to supporting our partner agencies, we also run several programs and services
directly through United Way that meet critical needs in the community every day.”
